01What exactly is Flowtype?
Flowtype is a browser extension that turns short shortcuts into saved text and browser actions. Save a reply, give it a trigger like /hello, then type that trigger in a supported field and press Tab.
02Where does Flowtype work?
The current preview supports ordinary website text inputs and textareas on sites you enable. Gmail text expansion is an opt-in experiment. Google Docs and other rich editors are not currently supported. Website autocomplete can also affect whether Tab is available.
03Does Flowtype read everything I type?
Your snippets and preferences stay in your browser. Expansion runs locally, and typed page text is not sent to a server. You choose which websites Flowtype can access. Payment and license services will have separate network requests when those features launch.
04Is there a free plan?
The product plan keeps unlimited plain-text snippets, basic categories, browser actions, and library backups in Free. The extension is currently a development preview; Pro checkout is not open yet.
05Is Pro a subscription?
The planned Pro offer is a one-time lifetime purchase, with proposed launch pricing of $19 internationally and ₹599 in India. Pricing and the final included features will be confirmed before checkout opens.
06Can I use it in Firefox?
Firefox is on the roadmap. The current development build targets Chromium browsers. The Firefox install option will link to its verified store listing when it is available.
07Can I back up my snippets?
Yes. Export your saved library as a JSON file and import a reviewed backup in the extension. Imports merge records rather than replacing your library. Unsaved editor drafts are not included in backups.
08How will I activate Pro after purchase?
The planned checkout sends a license key to your purchase email. You will paste that key into Flowtype settings to activate Pro. Checkout, license delivery, and activation must be connected and tested before purchases open.
