A calmer workflow starts
closer to home.

your words.
your space.
✳

Productivity tools often ask you to move more of your working life into another service. Sometimes, a useful tool can stay a little closer to home.

What local-first means here

Flowtype stores your snippet library and preferences in your browser. Text expansion happens on your device. Your typed page text isn't sent to a remote server to decide what to insert.

That makes the everyday path straightforward: save your words, type a shortcut, and expand the text in a supported field.

Permission should be a choice

A browser extension needs access to the pages where it works. Flowtype lets you choose which websites to enable. You can keep the tool available where it helps and disable it where you don't want it.

Local doesn't mean indestructible

A local library still needs care. Browser profile changes, device loss, or removing an extension can put local data at risk. Export your saved library periodically and keep the backup somewhere you trust.

Keep sensitive information out of snippets

Use a dedicated password manager for passwords and other secrets. Snippets are designed for reusable writing, not as a secure vault. Before expanding a snippet, check that you're in the intended field and on the intended website.

Room for thoughtful boundaries

Local text expansion doesn't mean every future feature can work without a connection. The planned Pro checkout and license activation involve payment and licensing services. Those requests have a different purpose from the text you type into a page.

A calmer workflow can begin with clear boundaries: which sites can use the extension, what you choose to save, and how you keep a backup.
